Oh, yes! It’s Friday! :)

So, I’ve been kind of spotty on my blogs for the past month. I had a lot to catch up on after vacay, and I’m horrible about routine. Once I break it, it takes me forever to get back to it. Like seriously.

Anywho, I figured that since it’s February already (what the heck!), I’d better get back to it! Also, because it’s Friday!

1. My mom sent me this forwarded email today. It’s one of those long story things, which usually I find kind of lame at best but usually more worrisome because hey—it could be a virus! That said, this one I really loved because I’m a reader and strive to be a strong woman. 😉

One morning the husband returns after  several hours of fishing and decides to take a nap. Although not  familiar with the lake, the wife decides to take the boat out. She  motors out a short distance, anchors, and reads her book.

Along comes a Game Warden in his boat. He pulls up alongside the woman and says, ” Good morning, Ma’am. What are you doing?”

“Reading a  book,” she replies, (thinking, “Isn’t that obvious?”)

“You’re in a Restricted Fishing Area,” he informs her.

“I’m sorry,  officer, but I’m not fishing. I’m reading.”

“Yes, but you have all the equipment. For all I know you could start at any moment. I’ll have to take you in and write you up.”

“For reading a book,” she replies.

“You’re in a Restricted Fishing Area,” he informs her again.

“I’m sorry, officer, but I’m not fishing. I’m reading.”

“Yes, but you have all the equipment. For all I know you could start at any moment. I’ll have to take you in and write you up.”

“If you do that, I’ll have to charge you  with Sexual assault,” says the woman.

“But I haven’t even touched you,” says the game warden.

“That’s true, but you have all the equipment. For all I know you could start at any moment.”

“Have a nice day ma’am,” and he  left.

MORAL: Never argue with a woman who  reads. It’s  likely she can also think.

2. I finally started ranking on Amazon! I hit the list on iTunes a few weeks ago. My highest point was #6. But now, under the subheading of “Dark Fantasy,” Becoming Alpha is #9 on Amazon.com!

Becoming Alpha is RANKED!

Woohoo! This makes for a very happy Friday for me. 🙂

3. Dude. My friend just sent me this. HOLYSHIT, Y’ALL! You can rave in the AM for your workout. Okay, so I’m in London for the next seven months. Who’s in for an AM rave workout?!

4. The Lego Movie is out, and I’m DYING to see it. DYYYYYYYIIIIIIIING to see it. But we’re about to get on a flight back to London and I’m not sure when it releases in the UK. Le sigh. In case you haven’t seen the newest trailer, here it is for your viewing pleasure:

5. I have to admit that usually I’m all about the Olympics, but haven’t been in the mood this year. I love both summer and winter games. For summer, gymnastics is my fave. Also swimming! For winter, love me some ice skating, speed skating, and snow boarding! I stay up until all hours of the night watching and cheering and sitting on the edge of my seat.

But this time I’ve been kind of meh about it. I think it’s the fact that Russia isn’t friendly toward the LGBT community…it makes me haz a sad. Today, I saw this on the google home page, and it made me haz a happy.

Also, the fact that Sochi is kind of a mess at the moment is making me LOL. It’s kind of a train wreck, y’all. Which again makes me sad for all of the athletes who worked their asses off to get there and then get this kind of treatment. From what I can tell on the interwebs, the athletes are making the best of it. Still, thinking about the athletes that are there right now, getting ready to give it their all, made me remember what the Olympics is about. So, I’m going to watch and cheer and get excited. Each one of these athletes are dedicated—they have to be to get there—and that dedication deserves to be acknowledged. As of today, I’ll be shaking out my pompoms and decking myself out in red, white and blue.

Go, USA! Go!
