It’s a rare rainy day today in Lalaland! I do like an occasional rainy day. It makes me want to be cozy and read books all day. Not the worst, right? 😉
1. The only problem with rainy days is what to read, and with two of my fave authors releasing new books this week… The newest Mercy Thompson book came out this week, Fire Touched, by Patricia Briggs! Already inhaled it. SO GOOD. And the third book in Anne Bishop’s Others series, Marked in Flesh, came out, too!
If y’all aren’t reading either series, you need to start! ASAP! Because they’re soooo freaking good.
Anywho, this will be me until I’ve finished reading:
2. This week, I’ve ventured into the land of acupuncture. My doctor recommended I give it a try, and I have to say, it’s kind of odd. Especially the part where I’m supposed to burn a black, smokeless, herbal cigar by my pinky toes twice a day…
It’s just the sort of thing that’s odd enough that it might end up in one of my books. I mean, it seems like magic, right?! Or maybe it’s just my mind wired to see the magic in it? But still, seems like some sort of ritual–laying in a dark room with tiny needles in legs and feet. And then you add in the cigar… Super cray and yet totally awesome. :::starts researching:::
3. So, this week I got this in my email:
LOL!!!! What do you think the ethics are on reviewing your own book?
Just kidding! I order and pre-order all my books at all the retailers so that I can check on them as release day hits and make sure that any updates I make happen. I’d never, ever think about reviewing my own book. But for some reason getting this email made me laugh. So, I thought I’d share. 😉
And on that note, I’m going to go grab some pizza. Because Friday night is pizza night in the Latcham household. Huzzah! So, I will leave you with this bit of hotness:
